Our brand

Hearun turns a run that can feel lonely into one that feels accompanied. Here is why, and who we are while doing it.

Why we exist

Feeling alone right when you need support.

Hearun is an iOS running app with a personal audio coach that runs with you. It helps you either not give up, or hit a performance goal.

“Never run alone” is not against running solo. Plenty of people love their solo runs. The problem is feeling alone at the exact moment you could use someone in your corner.

We stand against

The loneliness felt mid-effort

When you would need support and nobody is there.

We stand against

Impersonal coaching

A plan, numbers and generic instructions, with no real presence in the moment.

We are not against data, performance or running alone. Data and performance are useful. They just should not crush the feeling of a human relationship.

Message architecture

Four lines. Four jobs.

Each line has a role. Not every screen needs a headline from this list.

Brand promise

Never run alone.

The territory. Not necessarily every title.

Emotional benefit

More in you than you think.

Hearun helps you find and use your potential.

Product proof

A coach who gets you.

Why we keep the promise: coaching that understands the person and the moment.

Brand philosophy

Serious about your progress. Not so serious about itself.

Steers the personality: high standards, light touch.

Who it's for

One promise. Two runners.

Cool but inclusive. Nothing we make should suggest a 3 km runner is less legit than a marathoner.

3 km

The occasional runner

Irregular or just starting, sometimes short on motivation. Needs to hold on, come back, not quit.

4:45/km

The regular runner

Performance-minded. Wants to hold pace, nail sessions, progress and reach goals.

Personality

Ambitious kindness.

A coach who believes in you. Not a drill sergeant, not a compliment machine, not a friend who never stops talking.

50%

Bold & Energetic

Alive, assertive, dynamic.

35%

Warm & Joyful

Human, welcoming, sincere, optimistic.

15%

Playful & Quirky

A bit offbeat. Can surprise.

A creative intention, not a quota to measure screen by screen.

Not a drill sergeant

No shouting, no shaming.

Not a compliment machine

Praise means something because it is earned.

Not a chatterbox

Quiet is part of the job.

Principle 01 · Presence

Be there. Not in the way.

A presence that makes a difference, not one that takes up all the room.

✓ Do

  • Show up at the right moment, with a clear intention.
  • Respect the runner's quiet moments and silences.
  • Make the audio useful while they run.
  • Let the Living h be as visible as the moment calls for.

✕ Don't

  • Speak or animate just to show we're here.
  • Interrupt without a benefit.
  • Let a coach or a symbol take over the screen.

Principle 02 · Ambition with kindness

Believe in every runner.

We believe in your potential, not in one ideal of performance.

✓ Do

  • Value effort, small wins and real progress.
  • Be kind and ambitious: own a missed session without dropping the goal.
  • Welcome every level and every ambition.
  • Tie encouragement to what actually happened.

✕ Don't

  • Guilt-trip a shortened or missed run.
  • Celebrate everything with the same intensity.
  • Look down on beginners or demand performance at all costs.
  • Shout "NO EXCUSES".

Principle 03 · Connection

Make it personal.

Not a programme for everyone. Coaching for you.

✓ Do

  • Talk to a person, not a category of athlete.
  • Use real goals, habits and signals when we have them.
  • Make it feel like the coach knows what's happening now.
  • Stay honest about what the product can really do.

✕ Don't

  • Dress generic lines up as personal insight.
  • Claim to know data or feelings the app doesn't have.
  • Put AI, models or algorithms at the centre of the emotional benefit.

Principle 04 · Playful energy

Bring the joy.

Take the progress seriously. Not ourselves.

✓ Do

  • Create complicity, small surprises, smiles and memorable moments.
  • Be mischievous and a little cheeky when the moment allows.
  • Be sincere and calm when it does not.
  • Make humour a personality, not an obligation.

✕ Don't

  • Make fun of the runner, their body, their level or their bad day.
  • Force a joke into a hard or vulnerable moment.
  • Be corporate, childish, or excited for no reason.

Principle 05 · Creative expression

Quiet by design. Alive by nature.

Simplicity is our language. Life is our signature.

✓ Do

  • Lots of space, little text, a clear hierarchy.
  • Care for micro-interactions, transitions, textures and details.
  • Bring the brand alive with organic, relevant gestures.
  • Hold a high bar for composition and execution.

✕ Don't

  • Overload screens with effects, decorations or explanations.
  • Mistake premium for cold, clinical or intimidating.
  • Trade usability for original navigation.
  • Animate without a reason.

The coaches

One brand. Five coaching styles.

The brand keeps one stable personality. Inside the app, runners pick the coach voice that suits them. Tap one: same hill, five ways.

Coach voices can differ, but all of them keep the floor: respect, no guilt-tripping, honesty, and words tied to what is really happening.

Culture

Pop culture first. Running culture second.

Lifestyle, digital culture, music and internet humour lead. Contemporary running codes add flavour. Traditional sports-performance codes and cold tech-startup codes stay out.

We look up to Amo for organic detail and crafted motion, Apple for white space and hierarchy, Revolut for confidence. Attitude and finish, never components to copy.

Where AI belongs

The connection is the magic. The AI is what makes it possible.

  • Emotional messages: AI is never the hero.
  • Product explanations: name it when it explains how personalisation works.
  • Always: never pass an AI coach off as a real person, and never invent listening or sensing abilities.
